Vivaan Kashyap has spent a decade perfecting one skill: staying out of Aviraj's way. Don't go upstairs. Don't ask questions. Don't give him a reason to look twice.
But some things can't stay hidden in a house this big - not when the head of the family wants the two polar opposites together.

I don't know if he was angry, exactly, or just pissed off - but my sixth sense was screaming at me to back off.
"Avi bhai..." I whispered, my eyes dropping to his hand, clenched so hard around itself that blood had started to well up between his fingers. "Bhai, aapke haath..." (Bhai, your hand...)
"Why the fuck are you so bent on going against my word, Vivaan?" he growled, and my back hit the wall before I even registered moving. I swallowed hard, throat working around nothing.
"I did ask Vihaan bhai. I'm sorry, bhai, please - yahan kuch mat kariye." (Please don't do anything here.) I countered, begging. I still had a reputation to protect. A sliver of dignity I was determined not to lose completely, not here, not in front of everyone.
"Yeh naachna gaana hi sirf pasand hai?" (Is dancing and singing really all you care about?) he said, gripping my jaw - firm, but not cruel, which was somehow worse.
"Bahut shauq hai tumhe naachne ka?" (You really have such a taste for dancing, don't you?) His voice told me, clearer than any shout could have, that I was thoroughly, completely finished.
I couldn't say anything. My lips stayed sealed, my throat gone dry and useless. I'd forgotten - foolishly, completely - that I had just woken the one thing in this house I'd spent years learning never to provoke.
"Nacho," (Dance,) he said. "Inse ek kamarband bhi le lo aur dil khol kar nacho. Main bhi dekhna chahta hoon kitna achha nachte ho tum." (Take a waistband from them too, and dance with your whole heart. I want to see for myself just how well you dance.)
"Bhai..." My eyes stung.
