With a group of teenagers who also don't know how to cope its a bit obvious none of them would be doing it in a healthy way. But when Eddie is their reality check that not everyone is the same, Steve is the one that clicks with Eddie the most out of them. Going on a journey of finding things to help Eddie heal, from going to the movies to even binging out on junk food something slowly starts to click in Steve's brain. That maybe it wasn't the girls he was having a problem with. Maybe it was him, who was the problem. After Nancy's death Steve starts having nightmares, He ends up getting diagnosed with PTSD and can't be left alone for more then an hour. It's Eddie's turn to keep an eye on him, when I walks through the door, the sight he sees shocks him to his core.

Eddie the "Freak" and Steve "The Hair" Harrington hang out for the first time ever after, y'know, saving the world and whatnot. They find a beautiful friendship through their journey together. And maybe that friendship goes a little deeper.

Steve's always been the jealous one according to the group, according to literally everyone. Even the kid who supposedly praises him. Everyone tells him that he's jealous of Dustin finding another older friend to have by his side. But no one knows why and that it's not all jealousy. After their encounter with the upside down, Robin and Steve have been inflicted with a grotesque form of Hanahaki disease. Eddie and Nancy do their best to help them through their illness. Little do they know they're the cure. Now, Steve and Robin have to go through one hell of an emotional journey to save their lives. (Taking place after all the action of season 4, V2 isn't out yet so we'll just say everyone lived and the world is saved. Also almost no mention of the California party.)
