He is the oldest thing in the sky-a dragon so vast, so impossibly radiant, that lesser creatures bow before his shadow and the earth trembles at the rumble of his voice. Horus, the Golden King, never asked to be worshipped. He never asked for the bond that tied him to a reckless, loud-mouthed Viking boy who once tried to braid his mane and nearly lost three fingers for the trouble. But fate-or something far older and more cunning than fate-wound their souls together with an unbreakable thread, and now the king of all dragons must navigate a world that grows more dangerous with every heartbeat. Between the iron will of Rhaenyra Targaryen, the Black Queen, who demands his allegiance like a debt owed by the earth itself, and the quiet, stubborn courage of Jacaerys Velaryon, the young heir who may one day take his rider's place at Horus's side, the Golden King finds himself caught in a war not of claws and fire, but of loyalty, love, and the terrible cost of protecting those too small to protect themselves. In the brutal, wind-scoured skies above the Barbaric Archipelago, where Viking longships cut through black waters and dragons wheel like living comets against an endless grey horizon, an ancient power stirs. Bonds are tested. Rivalries ignite. And Horus-a creature who has outlived empires and watched continents drift-will discover that the most dangerous battlefield is not the sky, but the fragile, flickering thing beating inside his own immense chest. For even gods can bleed. Even kings can fall. And even the Golden King, for the first time in his immortal existence, must learn what it means to love something he cannot keep.

𝑷𝑶𝑾𝑬𝑹 𝑰𝑺 𝑵𝑶𝑻 𝑮𝑰𝑽𝑬𝑵. 𝑰𝑻 𝑰𝑺 𝑻𝑨𝑲𝑬𝑵. New York is burning. A pale, twitching nightmare from beyond comprehension stalks its streets, swatting helicopters from the sky and reducing block after block to rubble, while the world watches in helpless, screaming horror. But deep in the skeletal darkness of an abandoned warehouse, something older and colder and infinitely more dangerous has opened its eyes-green, slit-pupiled, calculating-and decided, with the patience of a predator that has outlived civilizations, simply to watch. She is not like the creature rampaging through Manhattan. She is not like anything this world has ever catalogued, classified, or contained. She is a weapon wrapped in sleek, mutated-iguana muscle, sheathed in scales that ripple with sub-zero fury, and crowned with wings that displace the very air with every slow, deliberate beat. And when she finally moves-when the watching ends and the hunting begins-no dimension, no universe, no reality will be safe from the freezing, apocalyptic wrath of an apex predator who answers to no god, no king, and no empire. Across the infinite, bleeding expanse of the multiverse, dimensional rifts tear open like wounds in the fabric of existence, each one a doorway into a world that was never meant to intersect with ours. Through them she passes-a winged silhouette of ice and atomic fury, trailing frost and silence and the kind of cold that makes stars feel inadequate-crossing from one shattered universe to the next with the effortless, predatory grace of something that was never born and can never truly die. Behind her, realities freeze. Before her, empires tremble. Imperium is the story of the spaces between worlds, the monsters that inhabit them, and the terrifying, beautiful, devastating truth that the most dangerous thing in any universe is the one that chooses to observe before it obliterates.

(Inspired by Upon Wings of Change by Crystal Scherer) Amber Anistia was a college undergrad, anxious but ready to face the world. She was near the top of her class, sporty enough to snag enough athletic scholarships to see her through college. She wanted to get her bachelors, her masters, she wanted to travel, to explore, to learn and grow and see. This is not what the world wants for Amber, and it rights her perception of it accordingly. Perhaps she was meant for greater things, but she was taken instead. Taken from her family, from the world that once seemed to rally for her. Taken, and twisted so firmly that her body warped into something incapable of any human activity. Taken, and made to fight her way into a world as familiar as it was different. It's a good thing Amber was a fighter. And once she set her sights on something? Well, Amber was never one to give up. ~~~~ Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by! I decided to rewrite the previous version of this story (under the same title) because I have aged and my writing style has changed significantly. This story will have more words, what will hopefully a better plotline and characters, and should just generally be better overall. The cover art is my own :)

No one remained to care for one last egg still clinging to life deep within the facility. Hatching alone and with no memory of his past, a silver dragonet sets out to try and survive in a world changed by alien invasion. And when tragedy strikes, he struggles to learn to forgive... and to build a friendship out of his hate. Many, many thanks to Pheonix for the cover art! :D

-Huge thanks to Crystalscherer for coming up with pretty much all the ideas present in this fan fiction of Upon Wings of Change, as a I read both books and enjoy the whole time!- Lloyd was a normal kid, very intelligent and athletic, especially in speed. All of this changes when all of a sudden, men took him from his school and injected him with something. He then woke up to a very *scaly* surprise! Only his time and patience will tell if he can cope with the change of species so fast. Many things are different in the new world her finds himself in, and only he can find out how to make the best of it. *This is my first ever novel I've made, so I hope it is a good start! I'm not very good at writing, so the wording might be a little lacking when compared to the original Upon Wings of Change.*

Eighteen-year-old Kara is in her first semester of college at Syracuse University. As a film major, she has big dreams of moving to Chicago, Los Angeles, or Atlanta and making it big in the industry post-graduation; but, being kidnapped and turned into a fire-breathing Mini Dragon wasn't exactly a part of those plans for her future. Being unwillingly turned into a cat-sized dragon after a fun night out almost certainly wasn't a part of her plan, and an alien invasion out of the blue further complicates things. Will Kara- now a Dragonet without a mind voice- be able to make it in this new world? Inspired by Upon Wings of Change by Crystal Scherer.

Please note: this is a third-draft story but is not revised. More than a century ago, dragons and the blue-eyed Shaderi flew together. Then they were brought down by jealous men who feared their power. Now blue eyes are a curse and dragons are a laughingstock, neither seen outside of slavery. Born a slave, her fair features mark her as a witch who is worth less than even the right to a name. He is a dragon who was raised in the arena, a life that left him unable either to fly or to breathe fire. Thrown together by an ambitious showman, they are united by a bond as old as the legends. Together, they have a hope for something more than the lives to which they were born, if only they can learn to trust each other. The words of a mysterious minstrel point them west, where rumors say their people live in freedom. The road there is hard, and at the end of it they find themselves a world embroiled in a secret war. This new world is ruled by a king who values tradition above all else. At every turn their new friendship is tested, and they are forced to decide how much they are willing to pay for a place to call home. He wants to help her learn the truth of where she came from, and she wants to give him what every dragon deserves: a chance to soar.

When she stumbles into a group of evil mages trying to magically enslave a dragon, she releases the dragon to act as a distraction, hoping he would attack the mages while she escaped. He has no desire for a rider, but when his childhood sweetheart shows up, she won't consider courtship unless he has one. As if evil mages with ancient spells aren't enough, word comes from the coast that the nagas are planning to invade and wipe out the humans. Goals and secrets clash as Katerina strives to keep her magic hidden, yet that very magic might be the key to stopping the war, and becoming Rakota's rider would give him the family he's always dreamed of. But all magic has a price, and to become a rider, she'd have to forfeit her freedom. Copyright November 2022. All Rights Reserved. Readers may not copy or steal this story.
