Pine Ridge has been peaceful since the fall of Void Knight. Life has moved on and the anticipation of the upcoming school year has crept up on Anna Pierce faster than she'd hoped. Filled with anxiety and uncertainty, she's not so sure she can survive it on her own. When the shadows come to visit and fill the space where Anna's biggest insecurities rested, there's little she can do to resist the spiraling temptation of letting it take over. Just as the city believed it was safest, The Shadow Void, the newest and deadliest threat ever to plague Pine Ridge, revealed itself with a vengeful, taunting display. Jaiden was raised in the Ice Ninja Academy. The Academy was suddenly destroyed by an unknown force, along with everyone in it except for Jaiden, who, with her newfound Ranger abilities, managed to escape to fight another day. During her travels, she met Dr. Tommy Oliver, who took her in and continued her training as the sole survivor. Now, as he focused on his new line of research in Reefside, Jaiden decided to temporarily part ways and head for Blue Bay Harbor, where the Wind Ninja Academy was.
