As soon as Hiccup was declared the winner and to fight the Monstrous Nightmare he leaves in the middle of the night on Toothless. Landing on an island far away that has a village too, there he notices that not all vikings are against keeping dragons, especially not when he is invited to watch the race with the chief of the village. Of course he knows he has to return one day, but he found a place where he could be himself, a strange roar scares all the dragons at night and he wants to find out. The question is, how is he going to do that without any help? (In this story Toothless has a complete tail and Hiccup never loses his foot)

But during his time away from Berk, Hiccup makes powerful allies and enemies. An ancient evil is once again reawakened; demons called the Djinn. The Djinn have taken both man and dragons to increase their ranks to create an untouchable dark army, their leader Ghul, thirst for vengeance and darkness has consumed his reason, sense and conscience. Now Hiccup and a group of young men and women called 'The Inquisitors' are tasked to end the Djinn plague as it makes its way to the North... The Archipelago. Hiccup along with the Inquisitors and half of the imperial Persian army travel North, they must stop the Djinn in their tracks before they lay waste to humanity.
