Lyra Jay Kellie has just had the second worst day of her entire life. It's right up there at the top of the list, just under her mothers death day. Her plane fell out of the sky in the middle of a storm and landed in the remote wilderness of the Montana Rockies. Her pilot is dead. Her satellite phone is worthless and she has no idea where she is. Lyra is utterly lost and alone. Good thing she's been taught a thing or two about how to survive from her world traveling partner and father. Then there's Nathan Wesley, a hunter and farmer, who later has the ultimately worst plane ride of his entire existence. Crashing just a mile or so from Lyra's camp site, he's rendered unconscious and cannot escape the flaming plane. Lyra sees the smoke and fire and hopes she can get to the plane in time. When Nathan wakes up, he decides to pay back this wild girl for saving his life by doing anything he can to help her get home. Even if that means risking his life for her. Can the pair survive the harsh Rocky Mountain wilderness and make it to civilization? Or will they fail in the face of an unseen danger? ------------------- Please be easy on me, this is my first official book. It is crazy and has some odd twists, so please do not judge. "Red? Little Red?" Wysteria hears the nickname and a memory jolts through her of a boy with a toothy grin and shaggy hair. She turns slowly. Behind her is a lanky guy with hair almost as long as hers, if not longer. His head is tilted slightly in disbelief but he immediately breaks out into a smile once he recognizes her. "Holy shit. It is you." Wysteria is staring at him with inquisitive green eyes. "You... you do remember me right?" It takes Wysteria another moment. "Jaybird?" Jacob breaks out into a wider smile. ---- "Why is everybody staring at me?" "Because you're beautiful." "No... That can't be it." -x- When Wysteria Redbird moves back to the Quileute Reservation in Forks, Washington after the sudden death of her father, she's not surprised to see that nothing has changed. La Push beach is just as cold, the woods surrounding her home are just as scary, and the elders of the Tribe still firmly believe in Spirit Warriors and Cold Ones. Wysteria unfortunately is not the same. Something burns deep inside her. Everyone seems wary of her presence. She feels like a walking plague and wishes more than anything that she was back in Florida with her father who would be alive and well instead of buried six feet under. The only solace Wysteria finds in Forks, Washington comes from Jacob Black and Bella Swan, two childhood friends she had almost completely forgotten. As events begin to unfold and secrets are uncovered, Wysteria begins to understand why the Quileute tribe fears her and soon realizes that she is afraid of herself as well.
