Erin Lindsay revieves a note in the mail from her fiance Jay Halstead who is serving. The note leaves Erin with a susposion that leads her to do something that may bring Jay into danger, and the team somewhere else.

They once promised to always have each other's back but destiny does not always go as planned. Now almost four years later, each one living their life in a different state, fate forces them to work together. How will this end for them? How are they going to deal with this reunion and the feelings of years ago? Can they overcome the past? Can they at least become friends again?

Detective Jay Halstead is the newest member of Hank Voight's Intelligence unit. After his best friend and the mother of his 4 year old daughter dies, Jay picks everything up and heads of to a new start. He ends up in Chicago, where his brother lives. When Jay gets a job in CPD, He meets Detective Erin Lindsay, his new partner. What will happen when they get too close. They always say not to sleep with the boss's daughter.

Erin Lindsay's world is completely back to what it used to be. Will she fall back down or will her lover be there to make sure she doesn't?
