Y/N, Adora, and Catra have been friends since they could remember. But, Y/N had a secret. A secret that only Shadow Weaver and Hordak could know about. She was a princess. The fire princess to be exact. When Y/N was living in the Horde, the only reason Hordak didn't kill her was because he thought it would be a good idea to use her as a weapon for the Horde. When Y/N found out about this, she confronted Hordak, and as a punishment for correcting him, he sent her to Beast Island. She was able to escape and wound up in the Whispering Woods. After a while, she found Brightmoon, and Queen Angella and Glimmer took her in since she was the fire princess. Angella taught her how to fight and use her powers. Y/N even became best friends with Glimmer and Bow!
