When Will is told he has to go to high school, he doesn't have much of an opinion. Go there, protect some students, hang out with people he barely knew, be over with it. Fine, whatever. Though he finds himself having to be near a Nico Di Angelo an awful lot... Nico'd rather not be near anyone, period. People were annoying, after all, and he didn't trust them much. He was only here because he didn't feel like saying no. He's forced to be near a certain Will Solace, though, and said Will Solace may just change his mind on people. I do not own Rick Riordan's characters. This story is a High School AU. Characters might be slightly out of character. Since they are normal people in this story, it will be hard to capture their real personalities. I'll try my best though. Thanks for your understanding. Percy is failing Italian and needs help before he gets kicked off the swim team. Nico's dad surprised him with a vacation to the beach, but Nico needs to learn how to swim before he leaves. Percy is a cool kid. Nico isn't. So it is understandable for Nico to be shocked when Percy comes and sits with him at lunch one day.

My mom always said: "Percy, someday you're gonna meet a pretty girl" But, I didn't exactly meet a pretty girl. Me and my friend Nico would have sleepovers together. We'd talk about how it was crazy how we were actually related. Cousins even. About my sh*tty stepfather and his sh*tty father Hades. We would lie awake and stare at the ceiling and just cuddle each other close. Sometimes, we were all we had. I never thought I'd fall for someone, much less someone I'd known so long. Which is why it kinda shocked my mom Sally a little when I told her I was gay. I mean, I was shocked too. I hadn't met a "pretty girl", I'd met a "beautiful boy"...
