after an entire year of isolating himself from hope's peak academy due to his health, nagito is finally willing to step back through its gates. however, someone new is among those gates, someone who can make an unexpected difference to his 'miserable' life. disclaimer: this is an au where there is no despair and hope's peak is just a normal high school (meaning no ultimates).

nagito lives in a rundown orphanage and has only really ever had the company of his best friend maki. that is until a boy starts doing his work experience at the orphanage.

Hinata's parents paid a lot sum of money to join a luxurious cruise trip held for the families' elite sons and daughters of the country on board one of the most extravagant ships that has yet to set sail to the new world. Feeling inadequate due to his family being unremarkable, ordinary and pedestrian, Hinata dreams to escape the dull regimen his parents pose on him and venture out to the world. Amidst his search for his life purpose, he grudgingly boards the ship and his eyes catch a peculiar young man with pale skin complexion, unruly white hair, tall and thin figure. He doesn't know what draws him to that man, but he can't seem to lift his eyes off of him. He gazes at him from afar; watching the sky as if he's contemplating about life and so he wonders if he is just like him. Unknown to one another, this fateful encounter would later alter the course, their values, and their outlook in the remainder of their lives.

From the first day at his new school one cretain empty desk piques his interest and makes him want to uncover the mystery hiding behind it. I really love detective stories so I wanted to write one which would have some mysteries here and there!
