Three ordinary adolescent girls who's lives were changed due to a Chemical X-plosion soon discover that their physical traits have been drastically altered. Their genes enhanced and evolved giving them the abilities of speed, flight, strength and more. Each however developed their own separate unique ability. Though, they weren't the only ones infected by the Chemical X-plosion. The gas from the explosion evaporated into the atmosphere and released back onto the earth due the process of precipitation. This caused many others to be physically "mutated" by the Chemical X. Ordinary thieves and criminals gained abilities, and the way they used them was the definition of villainous. The crime rate within their small city of Townsville heightened to an extent where the TPD (Townsville Police Department) wasn't enough to keep everything at peace. Feeling as though there's a purpose for these girls gaining such extraordinary powers, a scientist named professor Utonium decided to train them to hone their skills to become what the city needs to survive, guardians. Matthias is a struggling writer finally able to move into his first solo apartment. He's thrilled to have a place free of roommates and siblings, even though the building is decrepit and is inhabited by an odd assortment of people including an intrusive neighbor, a little girl who wanders freely, and an overweight orange cat named Cheese. As Matthias settles in things begin getting stranger. Something vile is growing in the dark and it's coming from somewhere on the second floor... where Matthias happens to live. Author's note: this is me trying to get back to my roots: a character driven novella with horror elements. The story of people struggling against an inscrutable enemy, as well as the day to day trials of being poor in America. I have no idea how often I'll update or even exactly how this will all go down because y'girl is a panster. So strap in because this is the first draft and you all get to see it being born!
