Lark felt his hands draw away the straps of her nightgown, and the soft cloth fell to the floor. She shivered in the cold of the room. Prince Aspen's eyes were a beautiful green, brightened by alcohol. His hands were tight as he led her to the bed. He had a tiny scar by his lip, close to the corner of his mouth. It was easy for her to focus on the thin, silvery line of skin, easier to let her mind cling to the mark than on anything around her or on Prince Aspen himself. He was strong.
