Luz Noceda expects another not-so typical day on the Boiling Isles. That is until she starts coughing up mint green flowers. She officially has Hanahaki disease, something that can only be cured if Amity likes her back. Meanwhile, Amity struggles to keep her illness a secret from her family.

This on top of the blight parents being desperate to win over Belos' favour, a feat made no easier by the obnoxious golden guard, by attempting to get the key to the human world. And on top of all of this Luz and Amity still haven't been able to just start dating! In other words life is a mess and difficult but that hasn't stopped them before. In the wake of her heartbreak Amity meets a new girl attending Hexide who might just love her in the way Luz doesn't. Alongside this Amity is desperate to escape the abuse of her parents, but with no where to turn she is losing hope fast. Will Luz figure out how she feels for Amity in time? Or will the duo remain little more than friends forever onward? This story takes place after episode 17 but episode 18 and 19 never happened in this AU and Amity never broke her leg.
