At 22, Katniss still does not know where her life is going, it could be spiralling downhill, or she could be just drunk. Her friends are getting married, however she is not. She is caught up in drinking and partying, all the fun stuff you can do when you are single. She uses Gale as a 'go to' guy, even though Gale wants more, he doesn't hesitate.
