He scoffed at me, "I control your finances, Evie. You don't have power over me."
He spoke with such certainty that I almost believed him.
That is until I stepped even closer.
A shiver passed through his body, those pretty eyes of his closing to block me out.
There was merely an inch between him and I now, his back pressed against the wall. His hands flex at his sides and he glared down at me once again.
Frustrated, love?
I ran a single finger down the buttons of his dress shirt, along his chest. Looking up at him from under my lashes, "Now, now pretty boy."
I leaned up slowly, feeling his chest under my hand as I did. His heart felt as if it might explode under me. God, him under me? The thought made a shiver pass down my own spine.
My breath brushed against his jaw. "Don't lie to me," I whispered, "Or there will be consequences. And not the fun kind."
A whimper left his lips.
And for but a moment, he was under my control.
His eyes screwed tightly shut and a shaky breath left his soft lips.
His eyes snapped open again suddenly, a blazing fire staring right into my soul.
I could hardly release a gasp as I was pinned against the wall with a hand around my throat.
"Such a little tease," he breathed, his voice husky, "but don't make promises you can't keep."
And with that he walked off, leaving me hot all over.
