(My description of Thomas is different then most people's. It will be described some time) ||This story is my interpretation of the Afterlife|| Maven knew his head wasn't all his. Most of it was altered, or stained by his mother, the former Queen Elara. His love for his brother and father, it's been destroyed. His love for Mare Barrow, the new-blood with lightning abilities, was tainted, and turned into a horrid obsession. But his love for Thomas.. Thomas, the red-blooded boy from the front. His mother tried to destroy it, like she destroyed everything else, but something wouldn't let her. Try as she might, the powerful Queen Elara couldn't erase his love for Thomas. But Thomas was dead. And now so was he.

Mare however, is conflicted when Maven sends her a threatening letter with a body of a baby attached onto it. Pressure doesn't mix well with lightning. It only gets worse when she starts to lose control of her thoughts, fearing that every passing second will mean another child will die in the hands of Maven's cruel hands. The next few days leaves her questioning about everything, leaving her to doubt what to think. But when a newblood, a vengeful brother, a strange mutation, an ill family member and a compelling heirloom orchestrates a story that leaves Mare to decide her future, what will she do? Will she go back to Maven? Or will she stay with the Scarlet Guard, where she truly belongs.
