The first thing London noticed about Katherine Basset was not her beauty-though she had that in abundance-nor her lineage, which was whispered about with cautious curiosity. It was her composure. Colin x oc He fell first, she fell harder. I did use characters and setting from the series 'Reign' for background... but you need to read the story to understand what I mean.

- 𝐖𝐀𝐑 had been a ghost in her home long before she ever set foot on the battlefield. Anzalya Iosifovna Aistova grew up in its shadow, in the quiet weight of her father's silence, in the haunted look that never quite left his eyes. By fifteen, she understood what most never would-the way war didn't just break men on the battlefield, but long after they'd come home. She swore she would heal, not harm. That was the promise she made when she signed up for the Nurse Corps. But war had other plans. Somewhere between the shifting tides of duty and desperation, she found herself not in the sterile safety of a field hospital but in the chaos of the front lines. The 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment-Easy Company. A medic, yes, but something else, too. A soldier in disguise. She learned to fight as well as she could heal, because out there, under fire, sometimes saving a life meant taking another. And she was a good shot. A damn good shot. War had taken so much from her already. What more could it ask for? She was about to find out. 𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐱 𝐟𝐞𝐦! . *. ⋆ Simone Adler was 23 years old when she decided she'd do all she could to help bring the war to an end- to do that, she studied and trained for hours a day, multiple days a week, her efforts being given to becoming a nurse. A flight nurse, specifically, where she'd be on board with the men, aiding them when needed, her skills there to help save lives that would be lost if she weren't on board. Through this process, Simone met the men she would be stationed with, being those of the 100th Bomb Group. They all seemed okay in Simone's opinion- except for one, that is. John D. Brady, the bane of her existence- he was insufferable, always cranky, and for some reason hated her before she could even have a real conversation with him. The hatred was mutual, of course- however, the hatred was quick to morph into something different, something more friendly after the two encountered near-death situations. It was something that resembled love- something that was love, and it was so very clearly the one thing that was destined to save them in the end. Medieval England - Year 1450: Eleanor was a poor shopkeeper's daughter whose only hope for a better life for herself and her family was to marry well. When she caught the eye of Thomas Fletcher, a royal courtier of noble blood, her family thought he was the answer to all their problems. Eleanor thought he was unattractive and rude, but she didn't have any better options as a poor commoner so she accepted his proposal. They just had to somehow convince King Henry that she was a suitable bride for Thomas so he would approve of their union, because marrying Thomas meant that she would join Henry's inner circle as a courtier. At just twenty three years old Henry had to take over as the King of England when his father passed away unexpectedly. On his first day presiding over the royal court, he was faced with a tough decision, should he approve Thomas' marriage to Eleanor, a commoner that he was almost certain was unfit to join his Royal Court? He decided the only fair way to decide was to have her stay at his castle for a week as his guest so he could see for himself if she had what it took to withstand the pressure of the life of a royal courtier. What King Henry didn't count on was the feelings that started to grow for that commoner throughout the week. She was already betrothed to someone else and even if she wasn't, a King could never marry a commoner. But he also couldn't ignore the growing need he felt inside to be with her, even if it would throw his country into a civil war and turn both of their lives upside down. He knew some things were worth fighting for.
