A family moves to Hope County to start a new life but soon are welcomed into Eden's Gate. For some reason Jacob is following Angel around like a lost puppy. Why on earth would she move her family into the chaos of Hope County? What drives Jacob to seek her company every day? Perhaps the soldier has fallen for the graceful woman who has a dark side when provoked but she also has another secret. A gift from God as Joseph puts it. She has visions of the collapse and her choices in those moments could save the project or doom her family.

Dahlia Hale is the youngest person working at the Hope County Sheriff's Department. Hailing from a small town in Louisiana, it's going to take her some time to fully acclimate to the new environment and living on her own. Developing friendships takes time even for the most functional of people and for disasters like Dahlia it takes even longer. She gets along with her coworkers and there's some religious family who's taken a shine to her, for some reason. Halfway through her six-month probationary hire and that nice religious family has kicked off a holy war with her becoming enemy number one. To one side she's a hero. To the other she's a monster.
