After coming out as a lesbian to her whole family, Anita is determined to prove them wrong and show them that she's capable of getting a girlfriend before their next reunion. Unfortunately for her, she's so far been unsuccessful in doing so. Desperate, Anita turns to her ex-best friend, Mason, days before the reunion and asks her to play pretend and be her girlfriend: which should be easy because it's not like it's real or anything, right?

In a world of Warriors, Protectors, Merchants, and Assassins, you never have the choice. You are, however, chosen. Warriors are selected in drafts to join the King's army; Protectors are called to the forest by Wilderness to keep the innocent safe; Merchants aren't selected by anyone, but they are rejected and sentenced to live their lives to make, and trade, and sell; Assassins belong to the Guild, children taken from their beds to serve and collect contracts of money that they never received. Adira is a skilled, feared, and respected assassin with the courage to fight what others are too afraid to stand up for, and she'll fight for this until her dying breath, too determined to back down to men who got things people like her won't: freedom of choice. "We Keep It Platonic" Is a short story that focuses on the queerplatonic relationship of characters Ása and Embla as they decide one day at a Pride walk that they want to raise a child. In this story vague topics of queerphobia are explored, along with the pairs combined ability on whether or not they can raise a child. Will their daughter be missing out on "regular kid" experiences because Ása and Embla aren't involved the way most parents are? Or will it even matter whether or not they're like other parents?
