( slow burn, no upside down/powers; elevens name is just el; takes place right after they became friends but that happened sooner in the summer; hopper is el's adoptive dad; her biological dad is martin brenner who's in prison for abusing her, and her mom isn't alive; there's confusion, angst, a little fluff, lowkey slowburn and excessive gay panic )

Things for Max weren't easy, her father kidnapped people for a living along with her brother to brutally torture and Murder them, Max's part in the job was to gain their trust in order to get them to follow directions that lead to their fate. Max wasn't fond of seeing innocent people die, although she had no choice, but that changed when a certain victim caught her heart. This is still in the 80's, does not follow the timeline of Stranger Things, El does not have powers. (Short Story) This is a story I already had published before, but I went back and changed the characters.
