Zach and Yasmine are two teenagers just trying to get through life by keeping their head held high and never letting their hopes drop. Although this can be hard when you're living in an illegally occupied country such as Palestine, they're there for each other. ALL the time. Yasmine is sarcastic, witty and a little controlling. Zach is quiet, annoying and indecisive. All the perfect ingredients to get on each others nerves! However they're basically twins...born apart but meant for each other from the beginning. Maydah Ahmad was never a normal girl. Ever since she was a young girl, it was clear to tell she was made for something bigger, something better.. But than her mother died, leaving Maydah and her father to cope on their own. After that her life was never the same. Albeit all the obstacles that stood in her way, and without a mother to explain it to her, Maydah still made her decision to wear a hijab (headgear) and faced the difficulties of bullies all on her own. Mysteries after mysteries began to unfold right before her eyes, and her already complicated life twisted into real life nightmare, and so she let the world know of her journey through her journal of a teenage Muslim. My mom tells me to never think about it but how can I not when it's right there infront of me. My dad tells me to forget about it but how can I when it's a part of me. My brother calls it cool and my sister says let it be. They only start understanding though is when their chosen husbands for me...never reply back. وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا لِي وَلْيُؤْمِنُوا بِي لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْشُدُونَ And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad SAW) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator or intercessor). So let them obey Me and believe in Me, so that they may be led aright.
