Gambit is a charmer and a ladies man, yet he falls for the one woman he can never fully be with. Can there be a future for a womaniser and the one woman who can't touch? Set 18 months after the end of X3 (The Last Stand). Gambit also has a healthy dose of 90's cartoon Gambit, just because I love that incarnation of him. I wrote this a while ago but after re-watching the X-men trilogy recently, I decided to dust it off and post it here.

I'm finally posting some X-Men fan fiction here, which I love to write. This is a "What If..." story. What if Rogue never joined the X-Men? And what is she met Gambit soon after her powers manifested? This is a long story and about 40 chapters, so updates will be regular. Note: keep in mind that I do write in accents as many of the character are southern.

Story centers around mostly Rogue and Gambit with a little Shadowcat and Colossus and Scarlet Witch and Pyro mixed in. Rogue has pretty much gained control of her powers but she is still afraid to touch. Can a certain Cajun thief help her get over her fears?

(AU X-Men: Evolution universe) Rogue is a lonely young woman with a shady past and a lot of secrets. Remy is a freelance thief who takes a shine to her, but he too has his fair share of secrets. They could be the answer to each others prayers, if they're brave enough to take the plunge. It's AU, set in the Evolution universe. Basically everything is as we know it, except for Rogue's background and Remy doesn't work for Magneto (yet!). They will cross paths with the X-Men eventually, but for now it's just Rogue and Remy.
