Anthony Rodgers is a young African American orphan running around the streets of Brooklyn in the 1930's at the height of the Italian mafia's reign. After a robbery of a local restaurant goes wrong, Anthony's friends leave him to face the consequences from the owner, who happens to be one of the most powerful mob bosses in all of Brooklyn. Seeing potential in Anthony he decides to take a risk and takes the youth under his wing and legally adopts him. Facing risks with racism in the mob, as well as the new Italian lifestyle. Anthony turns 19 and becomes a pivotal part of the notorious Gantrino crime family. Dealing with rivals, police and other hazards of 1940's New York, Anthony and his new family fight to overcome and stops at nothing to make sure the Gantrino Crime family comes out on top at any cost.
