Is one more drink worth your life? Is it worth hers? Diane is a fun-loving, intelligent, caring mother and wife when she is sober. When she is drunk, the "monster" takes control and stops at nothing to wreak havoc on the ones she loves. As her alcoholism worsens, Diane spirals out of control. Her oldest child, Anthony, attempts to build the courage to help his mom before the "monster" defeats her once and for all. In his personal journal, Anthony chronicles three days from hell as he battles his mom's addiction. All of the destruction, failed recovery attempts, and heartaches lead to one bloody moment. Does he save his mom in time? Or does one more drink send her too far gone? Because Wattpad readers are so loyal, I wanted to tweak my full story and offer my family's struggle to everyone for free. My goal is to spread awareness through our experience with the crippling effects of addiction. Proceeds of my full book will be donated to, "To Write Love on Her Arms." It is a national mental health and addiction foundation.

This story wasn't written by me, but by my grandfather, Alan Gardner. I'm excited to share his story with Wattpad as I read through and edit it for the first time. ------- An English newspaperman, sent to Rome to cover a meeting of the English Princess and the Pope and to find what happened to a journalist who mysteriously disappeared, uncovers a Communist plot. "Recipe for an exciting book; one foreign correspondent in Rome, one missing colleague, one beautiful girl, and a vicious communist plot. Shake violently together till a chain reaction sets in. Result: another success for Mr. Gardner. This must be finished at a sitting." - The Spectator "A new spy novel that is sensationally thrilling." - Anthony Boucher, New York Times

Okie's fifteen. She lives in New York. She's got a few problems: she's failing geography, her dad's a wimp, and her mother, Sumatra, is a stone cold bitch. But things get a lot worse when Sumatra turns into a zombie and eats Okie's dad. Clio, Okie's grandmother, lives in Toronto; but since the zombie apocalypse, Toronto's a lot further away than it used to be. Clio suggests that Okie transport Sumatra across the border, because family is family. But coaching Okie by cellphone isn't easy, and Clio has some zombies of her own to contend with. Luckily she has some garden tools. Naomi Alderman and Margaret Atwood team up for this unusual two-hander. Encompassing love, death, sex, and the meaning of family, The Happy Zombie Sunrise Home will surprise, delight, and convince you of the vital importance of keeping ready supplies of rhubarb and mini-wieners in your freezer at all times. The story unfolds beginning October 24.
