She was just walking home.
Now nothing in Kayeen Ardolf's life is real.
It was late. The streets were quiet. Kayleen had taken that path across the bridge a hundred times before, until the night she saw him.
A stranger. A man draining the life out of another beneath the streetlight. When he looked up, blood still on his lips, her world stopped.
She ran. He followed. And in the space between one heartbeat and the next, he was standing in front of her.
Kayleen doesn't know who he is. She doesn't know what he is. But after that night, the life she knew begins to slip through her fingers, replaced by memories she shouldn't have, and shadows that seem to know her name.
Someone wants her gone. Maybe they always have.
And the worst part, they already tried.
The man from the bridge?
He and his friends know more than they're telling.
These creatures aren't supposed to exist. None of this is.
But then again... neither is Kayleen's past.
Now, hunted by truths she was never meant to know, Kayleen must decide who she can trust, and what- or who, she's willing to become.
Some memories are locked away for a reason.
And some monsters wear a familiar face.
