Max Mayfield is an 18 year old girl from California who left Hawkins, a place she'd lived in for long, and moved to Manhattan, New York, for college. Her life was a bit confusing when it came to friendships. She cut ties with toxic friends and began a new chapter in college with her childhood friend, Nate, and her new roommate, Jayden. Max happened to visit a local night club one night in Manhattan, where she eventually formed a strong and lasting connection with a mysterious brunette bartender. The girls went through lots of ups and downs together and got to experience first true love. Read to unfold the never-ending bond between the two. ( slow burn, no upside down/powers; elevens name is just el; takes place right after they became friends but that happened sooner in the summer; hopper is el's adoptive dad; her biological dad is martin brenner who's in prison for abusing her, and her mom isn't alive; there's confusion, angst, a little fluff, lowkey slowburn and excessive gay panic )

El doesn't know how to trust. Over what max had done to her. But she learns slowly to trust again.
