After ACOSF Two years after the king of Hybern fell, two years of peace in Prythian. As the Inner Circle gets their routine, starts living their life to its fullest, something happens. A strange young woman, with a foggy history is stranded high up in the Night Court. The Inner Circle decides to check the situation. Upon arriving, it is more than odd that she survived the ice cold seawater. But the one thing that gives them the bigger interest is that this woman, Aurora, has shadows like Azriel. Trying to find out who she is and how she got those shadows, they take her back to Velaris. Azriel is intrigued by her appearance and her past. They discover a tragic and very dangerous thing about Aurora. She is cursed in a way no one has ever seen. She is more dangerous than anyone could've imagined. But she has shadows like Azriel. Azriel extends his hand, his Siphon gleaming cobalt and his fingers bare even in this cold, the scars an intricate mark of whatever he himself has survived. "Welcome to the mission, Gwyn," he says, and Gwyn wants to savor it, the feeling of his hand wrapped around hers, his long fingers brushing her wrist. The approval she sees in those lovely eyes. She could swear she sees one of his shadows make its way up her arm. &&& While Azriel and Gwyn work to free Koschei's captives, attraction turns into something more.

Azriel, the spymaster of the Night Court, one of the most powerful Illyrians to walk Prythian. He was damaged, he was broken, and he thought himself evil. He found solace in his darkness and in his shadows. Gwyneth Berdara, a priestess in the library after a horrific event left her scarred. She had finally learned to come out of her shell, as she and her found family of Nesta and Emerie began training to be Valkyries. They were unlikely friends, and yet they found themselves becoming close with one another, almost as if they were drawn together, and it was out of their control. After all, he was the one who saved her from the Hybern soldiers that fateful night, and it was her who will unknowingly save him from himself. the characters and world all belong to SJM! not me, this is a work of fan fiction but the plot is mine :)

Follows story line of the ACOTAR series.... picks off right after ACOSF, so of course spoilers are meant to be said in this story. For people who haven't read ACOTAR, read at your own risk, but fair warning you might be just a tad bit confused. ALSO... I will not be trashing any character, expect for assholes like Beron and his sons (expect for Eris). STORY DESCRIPTION: Gwyneth Berdara has spent her last year still not being able to leave that gods-damned library. She wants to leave, but every time she is about to reach the outside world, she freezes and goes back to Sangravah. She tells herself that she is safe, she is in Velaris, but nothing works. She feels as if she's still stuck in the same place from when she entered the library two years ago. One incident makes her leave the Night Court and into another court. How will she react? Azriel was there in Sangravah, but he had arrived too late. Ever since the incident, Azriel has been slipping farther and farther away from his family. He doesn't know why the incident had been eating away at him, it wasn't his first time failing at his job. Azriel finds shocking news that he must keep from Gwyn.
