At Willard's department store, none of the night security guards survive for long, and eighteen-year-old Daniel Gale is about to discover why. It’s simply a story. My story. The one time I bring out my past, my present, and what I hope the future can be. Well, in the end, what else can we do besides hope?

From the poetry diary of the late Ms. Bennett: I’ve always thought how interesting it would be To live in a world where the dead could speak. Man, to think there’d be a lot to say. Who what, where, when and why would be answered With no questions gone astray. Unfortunately though, the dead can’t speak. Except in this case of course Where I give you one little mystique. For on the eve of my sixteenth birthday I, Lauren Bennett, was brutally murdered By the person of course I least suspected. My catastrophic death struck those in Florence so highly residents wondered, "Who would ever want to leave our precious Laurie so nearly dismembered?" I was after all, St. Mary high's perfect little angel, just as they remembered. Or was I? Not everything was like it seemed in this quaint little town despite its peaceful eye. My five friends and I did unforgivable things, wicked sins that in my part turned deadly. And now, three years later, my killer has set out for sights much more redly. For those who were around me when I was alive are the next targets. Something I suggest neither ever forget. Because those acts committed all when they were younger Each deserves a punishment just like mine, perhaps even rougher. This all began with one single tragic death. And now, it must end with another who’ll be left with no breath. The question now is who will it be? Well I can say with certainty it definitely won’t be me.

I sniffled slightly, it was so quiet in the near empty room that I could hear the sound sort of echo. "Do you think about me still?" "Thinking About You", my favorite song- except I didn't sing it. I said it wistfully. I hoped it would bounce of the wall and come back to me. I heard a footstep, and then the next lines followed, in a low sing-song voice. "Do ya, Do ya?" It scared the hell out of me,but I didn't move. I sat in silence looking towards the doorway, "When you sing to the walls it sounds like they're saying they love you too." The voice again, solemnly, sadly. It reminded me of myself. "I'm over here, silly." she giggled- it was a girl's voice. My heart was still on a hundred and ten. "Who..?" "Jocelyn, it's me. Adrianna." Oh. Adrianna...I used to talk to her a lot freshman year. But Sophomore year, this year, we hadn't had any classes together and never saw each other in the hallways so our relationship had deteriorated. Then it got quiet again, silent. Like every molecule and every element in the room had just suddenly stopped dead. It had become uncomfortable, unnatural. I realized she had been here the whole time, longer than me. "So what are you doing here, Jocelyn....?" Even more uncomfortable. I didn't know if I could trust her. I mean, I had nothing against her but... She asked again. I cleared my throat. My hands started shaking, they always shake. They always betray me. "I um, Uh......"

He layed in the middle of the alley. My hands in fists so tight I could have drawn blood. My fists on his chest with tears coming out of my eyes like a waterfall. I'm screaming for help, any help. I looked down at his closed eyes and heard his quivering breaths. That's when I knew it was him. I love him and needed him more than anyone. He was the only good part of my life, and if I lost him, I would lose myself. Why won't anybody help me? I scream again and again with no response. There's so much blood. He's dying. The love of my life is dying and nobody cares. Molly has been stuck between 'perfect' and 'he helped me more than anyone'. She's mostly alone in the world except for her best friend, her grandma. But when her past comes back to taunt her she gets overwhelmed and doesn't know what to do.
