Cole's life has never been his. For as long as he could remember, his one job in life was to play the role of a copycat. He's had to pretend to be his older brother as soon as his parents realized the two looked very alike to one another despite not being twins. His birth wasn't planned nor wanted so what better way to make use of an unwanted child than to constantly put their life in danger? He swears his parents had the most fucked up logic he's ever heard of but this is his life and it'd continue to be that way until the day one of his brother's assassins finally succeeded in killing him. Well, that's what he thought until he was kidnapped by the Azure Dragon's group and encountered their boss, Eros. Not caring much about who he was, Cole punched him. Yup, he punched one of the largest mafia groups in the U.S.' boss right in the face. But who knew that one punch would, instead of ending his life, change it? --------------- "I have to pee" I said monotonously to the guard in front of me. I could immediately tell he thought that I was hoping to be led to a bathroom so I can find an escape, but I didn't need a bathroom. The bucket would do just fine. And as expected, that's what was given to me. I had relieved myself a few times in the dingy little thing unfortunately but, rather that than piss myself. "You go in there" he said and I looked down at my tied legs. "How am I supposed to pee with my legs tied?" I said and he looked at me confused. "My dick is small" I said holding up my pinky for emphasis and the guy gave me a disgusted look. "Make it quick" he said gruffly after untying my legs and helped me stand up. "Can you turn around?" I asked as I saw the man was just standing there. "No" he said. Whatever, his nose not mine. [Completed. 125k words]

"You're scared of me," he accused. Maybe it was the sleep deprivation kicking in, but I shook my head. "No, I'm scared your blood will stain my couch." A wife who died a mysterious death and a "my way or the highway" attitude, Manolo Raymond was not to be trusted. Anyone with ties to the underworld knew that, which was why Wesley did what he could to stay out of the mafia prince's path. He had one goal: to finish paying off his debt to Manolo's older brother and then never see their faces again. However, his plans were thrown out the window when he returned home one night to find his house broken into and an injured Manolo Raymond bleeding on his couch, demanding refuge.

In which an underground fighter in desperate need of anger management and a snarky mafia boss make a deal with an explosive reaction. ... Some people were born lucky with silver spoons in their mouths and trust funds established long before they were born; others were born with dirt underneath their fingernails, barely scraping by. Twenty-three-year-old underground fighter Linus Ward was used to the latter. Raised in the foster system and bounced from one bad situation to another, Linus learned early on that surviving wasn't a simple task but having his foster siblings did make it a lot easier. However, when Linus' foster sister got caught up in a con gone wrong, what should've been a routine identity switch and a clean getaway ended with spilled blood on her hands and a target on her back. To guarantee his sister's safety, Linus was forced to make a deal with someone as dangerous as the people hunting him: recently-named mafia boss Teodoro Raymond. A paid bodyguard position with guaranteed safety should have been a good thing. Yet, when sparks started to fly and the lines between protection and obsession blur, Linus was left to decide if he was clawing his way out of the world that's always tried to chew him up, or falling even deeper into it.

I shoved him back against the couch, momentarily catching him off guard. His eyes drifted down to my lips and I knew that without his processors, he couldn't hear me but that didn't stop me from muttering, "shit." Shit because that selfish asshole persona he typically wore was crumbling in real time; shit because I was finally getting a real look at who he was behind that badge he wore like armor; shit because the more glimpses I got, the more I was starting to like what I was seeing. And that realization was more terrifying than anything else. ... Twenty-six-year-old former mafia second-in-command Enrico Herrera grew up surrounded by violence. After two years away from it all, he thought he had left mafia life behind until he crossed paths with corrupt police detective Von Rutherford. Twenty-five-year-old Von Rutherford didn't play fair. A corrupt cop whose goal was to bring down crime lords and trafficking rings no matter the consequences, it was no surprise when he turned his sights on a secret society known for crime in the area. The problem was getting close enough to gather enough evidence which was where Enrico came in. Blackmailed into helping Von with his case, Enrico was dragged back into the mafia underworld. His goal was to get out of Von's clutches as soon as possible; however, the more time he spends with the cunning, relentless detective, the more he sees past Von's badge and the harder it becomes to separate duty from desire.

Desmond Crenshaw doesn't have much going for him. He street races for cash, deals drugs to get by, and drags himself through each day with only one goal: survival. He's a reckless high school dropout with very few talents that won't get him arrested-definitely not someone you'd want around your child. Vaughn Torres agrees, he's been seeking a solid reason to cut off the friendship between the troublemaker and his daughter since the day they met. He gets one, too, when Des's vices begin to bleed into their lives and Winter is officially in danger. Des is given an ultimatum: he can only be around Winter if he distances himself from the crime. There's only one way to do that. A change of employment, specifically to Vaughn's mechanic shop, though that balance is a lot easier said than done. No, things for Des are never that simple. Not when he's working under the watchful eye of a man who hates him. Not when he starts genuinely wanting to be better, and is faced with the rocky road of leaving a life of crime entirely. And especially not when he's been in love with Winter's dad for years.
