Marie woke up in a dark lift with no memory of who she was or how she got in the lift. The only sign of her past was an unconscious girl in the lift with her. When she gets to the Glade, she is bombarded with questions but has no answers. Through her confusion and amnesia, she seems familiar with one Glader. Newt. Newt was one of the first people to arrive at the Glade. He has been there for two years. He's watched the Glade grow and kept the order correct since the beginning. But when two girls show up in the Box and break the cycle, he wonders how the Glade's system will stay in place. Though he still struggles with keeping the Glade in order and his own memory loss, he can't help but feel something different about one of the new girls. Marie.
