Poe never been talkative and was really shy and because of this he never had friends. in middle school, people always avoided him. Yet he was not bullied but he feels like he was a ghost or like he didn't exist. But that's didn't bothered him more than that. At least he could focus on studying and do what he liked. He spent all his time reading detective books, he really liked theme. Well he was in peace during two years. After that, some guys started to bully him because they said that he was weird. Poe thought it would be over soon, that if he didn't say anything they would leave him alone, that they get tired of him. But it got even worse, there was a lot of bad rumer on him and more people started bullying him. It's gone so far that poe decided to go live with his father who recently goes there for business reason. It was Poe's first day in high school and he hoped things will change.

Poe couldn't help but notice the way his heart started pounding at an alarming rate whenever he found himself with or even thinking about a certain green-eyed detective. Ranpo finds himself feeling a similar way but isn't sure what to do. After all, they were just heartbeats, right?

This is a high school au (no powers) "What was that? You should really speak up ya know" Ranpo says a bit annoyed, looking in his bag and pulling out a hard candy to throw in his mouth. "Uh- yes sorry- I said how about a mystery novel" Poe repeats louder, flustered and a tad embarrassed. "A mystery novel huh? That's a great idea!" Ranpo says happily, clapping his hands. "Now tell me, what exactly do you have in mind?" Ranpo asks, adjusting his glasses as he looks at his screen. Ranpo is the top of his class and Poe looks up to him but also dislikes him because he views it as some sort of rivalry. Meanwhile Ranpo hardly realizes that Poe exists. In writers class, Dazai gets to selects pairs to work on making a book together.
