Katy is een meisje van 15 jaar oud en wil heel graag een Grijze Jager worden. Maar tijdens haar opleiding ontdekken ze iets vreselijks... De gevaarlijke en beruchte Morgarath had een zoon en die zoon is nu uitgegroeid tot een nog gevaarlijkere man. Ook komt Katy eindelijk na al die jaren meer te weten over haar verleden en over haar familie. Maar niet op een hele fijne manier. Ook heeft de zoon van Morgarath nog meer verschrikkelijke monsters in de bergen van Nacht en Ontij gevonden. Er gebeuren vreselijke dingen, er bloeien liefdes op, mensen vinden elkaar terug en andere proberen ze weer uit elkaar te halen... In het begin is het nog een beetje saai maar later word het echt wel spannen dus stop alsjeblieft niet gelijk met lezen na de eerste paar hoofdstukken want het word echt beter. Wanneer Grijze Jagers Halt en Will worden vermist in het oude, overzeese koninkrijk van Hibernia, gaat Gilan hen achterna.
