Wednesday wasn't feeling all well going back to Nevermore Academy after her first semester there, but after recieving an invitation to return she knew ahe had to go after finding out some oddities that sparked up her interest. Hiccup Haddock is the laughing stock of Berk, Stoick's little embarrassment and the only Viking heir who has yet to kill a dragon and Astrid Hofferson is a disgraced young warrior who does everything in her power to restore the Hofferson name. Together, both Hiccup and Astrid try to do right to their family names and tribe, but their efforts are fruitless, the Hairy Hooligans want nothing more than to dispose of them. The two Viking outcasts are then branded as traitors because they were discovered befriending a Night Fury, and they are accused of false crimes that further seal their banishment. No longer fit to live among the Vikings of Norway, Hiccup and Astrid set out to start a brand new life into the great beyond. Little do they know that their adventures will soon land them in a foreign land filled with new dragons, dangers and a war torn empire.

Hiccup is banished from Berk for befriending a dragon, a Vikings mortal enemy, rejected for the last time, Hiccup leaves Berk after the Vikings spit on his vision of peace with dragons and he is the only one who knows where the dragons nest is and the monster that sleeps within its mountains. Ten years later, the Barbaric Archipelago has heard of a new tribe called the 'Strike Clan' which is led by Hiccup and the island has become very prosperous for both man and dragons. With the dragon raids growing worse however each village pays a visit to the Strike Clan because they posses one man, that can end this madness. That man is the Dragon Master. However not all the tribes wish for the raids to end, the Outcasts and the Berserkers ally themselves and plot something that spells disaster for both man and dragons. Hiccup and his Strike Clan will protect the dragons to death if they have to, but can they stop the alliance between the two deadly tribes? Or is there something darker lurking in the shadows?

Gobber couldn't convince Stoick to let Hiccup into the ring for dragon training, but situation gets complicated, when Hiccup faces a Monstrous Nightmare during a raid again. Except this time things go very differently thanks to certain black dragon. Over time an unbreakable bond is formed between two lonely souls.

It's been a month since Dragons and Vikings were brought together, now the only thing left to do is train them. Its close to winter in Berk, putting everyone on edge for food. Hiccup, the chiefs son, also the one that brought dragons and Vikings together isn't worried about the snow at all. He's usually the one to take advantage of the snowy weather, going dragon sledding with Astrid and the gang. But when Hiccup, mysteriously falls ill with an unknown sickness, Stoik's worries for his survival in the cold grow. In hopes to cure his only son Stoik sets out to sea to find the right medicine leaving Hiccup in the constant care of Gobber and Astrid. When tragic strikes, and Hiccup is now left on his own, his chances of surviving become small.
