You did receive your letter 5 years ago however due to your brains anomalies your parents chose to homeschool you, it was the safest decision but for the lack of friends you often despised it. People are scary, we all know that. Entering a magical school where all of your classmates have bonded for 5 years without you is scary, seemingly only you know that. You've been thrown in the deep end and from the way your eyes were glazed to the red slits on your wrists you would surely drown. But it was ok, life hurts people and you'd fallen so far the people above you could hurt you no more. Through everything you'd clung to one hope. Things don't stay bad forever. Pain is an illusion and surely, surely you'd get better in time.
