Fifteen-year-old Jane 'Eleven' Hopper has one goal. Ignore Max Mayfield. Easy enough. Unfortunately for Eleven, though, Max has other plans. Eleven wasn't planning on falling in love again. Max being in her life now could change that. Eleven can't be in love with Max, though. Girls liking girls is not a common phenomenon in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana. But Max is determined to get Eleven to love her. She's always wanted love and she thought she had it before, but it didn't feel right with her boyfriend. Now, Eleven is faced with the decision of having a girlfriend and being bullied, a best friend and keeping her boyfriend happy, or an enemy. Eleven doesn't have powers in this.
