In this story, Catherine Ward would be Rachel's step-sister. Cathy's parents adopt Ray; her biological parents give up on her and left her in an orphanage, then she was adopted. Also her family name would still be Gardner.

This takes place after Zack broke through the window of Rachel's hospital room. Rachel is 14 and Zack is 15. Deal with it, no complaining.
