The war has concluded, and the Golden Trio and the other students of their year have returned to finish off their years at Hogwarts. The Death Eaters have been imprisoned, and Hogwarts has been repaired. However, the war changed everyone, whether it was a small change or a more evident one. The war is over, and the Golden Trio are navigating their way in some sort of normalcy. Hermione was the only one to return to Hogwarts for her last year. Hermione is now a healer that also works as a representative for st mungos in all ministry related matters. Hermione is determined to give second chances to the young people she grew up with in hopes of creating solid friendships. These second chances end up giving her a lot more than friendships.

After the war, Hermione Granger was excited to go back to Hogwarts for her final year. Voldemort was gone, Harry, Ron and her had somehow managed to survive, with a lot of help and even more luck. She was ready to put it all behind her and move forward, starting the rest of forever. But it seems that fate is not quite finished with her yet and what was meant to be her most normal, quiet and least dramatic year of her life, has somehow became something else entirely. ...Cue Draco Malfoy...

It is one year after Voldemort is defeated. Headmistress Mcgonagall invites students with unfinished educations to return if they would like. They will be known as Eighth Years. Hermione, of course, easily agrees and is actually excited. Ron and Harry would rather not go, but, of course, Mrs. Weasley is making them. All summer, Ron has been moody and distant. But lately, he's been rude and almost cruel towards Harry and Hermione. And when they arrive at Hogwarts, Ron starts acting possessive and abusive. Hermione was going to tell someone, but as much as she hated to admit it, she's clueless. She's hurting physically and emotionally. And worst of all, she's scared. She's backed into a corner and has no one to run to. Or does she?

It is no secret that Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy despise each other. Tired of their fighting, a Ministry Official (who seems to be hiding more than she leads on) decides to teach them a lesson.
