"Look at us, we are not heroes." Steve looked at Eddie and his senses were filling with grief. Grief for something that hadn't even happened yet. He wanted to shake some sense into Eddie and tell him that he was a hero and that every one of them was one. All of their plans and specific jobs played a part in killing Vecna and saving Max. But seeing Eddie standing in front of him telling him that he wasn't a hero killed a part of Steve. It made Steve worry that something was bound to go wrong and someone could end up dead. He tried to get rid of this feeling as he left to join Nancy and Robin. "Hey, Steve?" This caught his attention. Pulled him out of his mind which was running way too fast for him to catch up to right now. "Make him pay." Eddie's words were like electricity coursing through his veins. He felt the anger that Eddie did for everyone that Vecna killed. Fred, Patrick and especially Chrissy. Steve felt more secure for a moment. He felt empowered by Eddie's words. He wanted to fight for Eddie and for all of the kids and his friends. He wanted to make him pay just as much as Eddie did.
