Star, an unpopular highschool boy, lives with his rather popular twin brother, Phoenix, right in the center of North Dakota. Unlike Phoenix, Star lives an uneventful life. Phoenix is outgoing and a happy-go-lucky who is favored by their whole school while Star's anxiety spikes up even whenever he has to work in groups with unfamiliar people. Star believes nothing happened for him to be this way, he mainly blames his dad. His whole dad's side has a history of anxiety, which means the anxiety passed down to Star. Phoenix got real lucky and managed to avoid the bad genetics. On top of that, he fell victim to Phoenix's cruel friends. Normally, no one bats an eye at Star. He's just another side character in many people's lives. But one particular day, he meets a boy who changes the way he views life and even himself, forever.

Jamie Archer is a sixteen-year-old boy with a 'curious' ability. And before you ask it's not anything like a superpower or something that seems cool but isn't. He more like a real life cupid - a matchmaker. He knows who people are meant to be with, who their soulmates are. Something he's always found amazing, though he can't admit to knowing what his ability meant in the beginning. But how does he know who belongs with who? It's simple really, everyone is connected by a red string. That red string tied to everyone's ring finger is the string of fate. *** [Warnings: Mentions of homophobia, strong language, and hateful language ]
