After the Death of James Hopkins at Santa Barbara's most famous Casino,The Lockheart, Mr Monk is drawn into the case one week after it has been committed and learns of this through the weekly newspaper at San Francisco. Reluctantly after Natalie repeatedly bugging him, Monk eventually goes to Santa Barbara and meets the Psych Agency. Then The Psych agency meets NCIS.

Some people think the new detective is better than Monk. But Monk knows that that danger-like dirt- lurks. everywhere. Take a look at old cops, the batch of the SC police department and killed one by one. The police say it was a hit by an old cop, but Monk suspects otherwise. His assistant, Natalie, isn't exactly focused about the latest investigation. It was bad enough that she has a crush with the new detective. Handsome detective Jack Brook is on the case and claims what the police also thought was a hit by a colleague. Monk has his doubts about Brook's credibility. But finding the killer and preventing another death-all while coping with roaches and the horror of unsynchronized clocks-may prove a tough case to solve... Now delve in to one of the adventures of the obsessive and compulsive detective.
