Sixty Days
unchartedwaters
Veronika Shepherd and I peacefully coexisted as neighbors for the majority of our lives. She was the school's golden girl, I was invisible, it was inevitable that we would never get along.
So imagine my surprise one late August night before our senior year when she drunkenly scaled her way up the side of my house and her skinny silhouette creeped into my room at three in the morning, startling me from my peaceful slumber.
Her proposal: Somehow make the school's most simultaneously popular and jerky guy, Crawford Brooks, to fall in love with me so I could smash his heart into tiny little pieces (she was still a little upset over the break up)
Her incentive: keeping the biggest secret of my entire live from spreading like wildfire through our high school, marking me with a scarlet letter for eternity.
I didn't know how in the world I was going to pull this off, considering the fact that I never spoke to Crawford and thought I would never have the need to. But now I was left with an ultimatum and I felt the odds of getting the hottest guy in school to fall in love with me were better than recovering from the entire school finding out what Veronika had saved on her phone.
And thus started the most adventurous sixty days of my life.
I really wish I locked my frickin' bedroom window.
