The named dragon straightened as if to look more presentable, but all that did was emphasize his inferiority. His copy of the general's pose at attention was laughable, and Prion felt as if the crowd was enjoying the entertainment. He felt his family's eyes on him and shrank internally at the humiliation he was bringing them. But as the general continued, Prion's posture deflated. Every word punctuated his growing horror: "Your failure to act has resulted in the destruction of the palace and the deaths of many nobles. You have been charged with treason and are exiled accordingly by Her Majesty, Queen Chalcedony. If you wish to return to your place in the Kingdom, Her Majesty will grant you pardon... only if you return with the heart of The Blue Comet in your talons." . . . Violet was never meant to be her own dragon. She was created for one purpose-to kill. Her instincts were set before she even hatched-rules carved into her very being. She was built for war, trained to hunt, sharpened to kill. Queen Scarlet saw her for what she was and turned her into something unstoppable. Violet learned to fight without hesitation, to strike without mercy, to obey without question. She didn't need to think. She didn't need to choose. She only needed to follow orders. And then Scarlet fell Her instincts tell her to follow the strongest, to serve the next ruler, to find her place at their side. But her new master refuses to command her. They tell her she doesn't have to obey. They tell her she's free. But Violet was never built for freedom. Without orders, without purpose, she feels something stirring inside her-something she doesn't understand. A force clawing its way to the surface, twisting her thoughts, warping her instincts. She was made to kill. It's written into every part of her. So what happens when she's told she can't? What happens when a weapon with no target is left to decide for itself?

Hawker's entire existence can be boiled down to three undeniable truths: he hates the AntWings, he will do anything to help his tribe, and he will stop at nothing to find his father's killer. So, when given a chance to take part of a dangerous mission, he decides to knock three dragons out with one wing. It's not his fault he ended up questioning everything. --- Even though this story is rated Mature, it is only for the occasional fight scenes which include enough blood and gore to showcase the reality of fighting, as well as mentions of alcohol. Ghost does not know who he is without Lady Atta. Even though they escaped he still acts like her Light, following her to the Poison Jungle. Faced with a war-torn world and uncertainty everywhere he turns, Ghost wonders if he is cut out for the mission his Alate has in store for him. Until now, he has never had a choice. Now that he does, he isn't sure which option to take. Which one he wants. But it isn't Atta who inspires him to act. It's a young AntWing with vengeance on her mind, a dragon he used to detest because she was a better version of him: angry and with a lot to prove, but with the wherewithal to act. He follows her because that is what he is supposed to do - follow and light the way. It's the only life he knows. --- Even though this story is rated Mature, it is only for the occasional fight scenes which include enough blood and gore to showcase the reality of fighting. Eight has lived semi-contentedly for years. All she has ever wanted is to find a way she can obtain happiness while fulfilling her duties as a Worker of the AntWing Colony. So far, that plan has been going swimmingly. Which is to say horrible, because as a dragon who's never even seen the sun (let alone a body of water), Eight can't swim. When her section of Workers reaches maturity they are tasked with a new job: one Eight does not agree with. They have to sire a new generation of Workers for the Colony. She and her best friend devise a plan to escape, but that also backfires - this time, more literally than figuratively... --- Even though this story is rated Mature, it is only for the occasional fight scenes which include enough blood and gore to showcase the reality of fighting. What would have happened if the SkyWing egg was not broken? If Glory was never chosen? NOTE: none of the pictures are mine unless it has a caption in bold underneath with the words "I drew this." Also, if none of you could tell, I DID NOT WRITE THE WINGS OF FIRE SERIES! Shocker right??? Credits go to Tui T Sutherland for her awesome book series. BTW, THIS STORY EXISTS ON QUOTEV TOO. So if you see someone with the same name as me but on Quotev with this story, that's me.
