Shinku Natsubara's father murdered his wife after learning that Shinku and her brother, Rin, weren't his biological children, and then left, She ran to her real father's place, only to be shooed away. Her brother then became a drug addict, selling anything he could get his hands on, including shinku. She was then beat up over and over again as a stress relief doll. She finally escaped to a dojo with a female sensei, but all the boys there bullied her saying she could never be as strong as them.
