He had an image that most would describe as criminal, evil, disrespectful and coldhearted. He never cared for it much but deep down inside it hurt. She was the perfect girl to change that. She was an angel in the public eye and everyone adored her and her kind heart whereas, he was just ruthless and careless, that had to change so they did it for the public.
