Once all is unveiled and up in flames, and there's no way to turn back, what then happens when everything becomes too little and too late...?

When Mohammed Dangote and Mariya Dantata met, the questions people asked were if and when they'd ever get together. From stolen glances and hidden smiles to nervous confessions and bashful laughter, theirs was a love story that bloomed in the most beautiful but heart-wrenching ways; a love that gave as much as it took. Years later, their son - Nasir Mohammed Dangote - is finding love of his own in the eyes of Atika Dambatta. Intrigued and drawn towards her by a force he can't quite explain, Nasir decides to follow his heart. Their first proper meeting in her parents' living room makes two things clear to him; that he has found the woman he wants to marry, and he's never been readier to settle down, as long as she's the woman by his side. Together, they build a family with the faith that life would only get better. However, just as life had different plans for Mohammed and Mariya, fate has much in store for Nasir and Atika, and they would have to learn that sometimes life throws the most unplanned events at you; not to necessarily break you, but to make you so much better than you would have ever dreamed. (P.S. This is a love story spread across generations. It is just not the straightforward one you are expecting)

Book three in the Dantata Series. Hauwa Sufyan had it all planned out: get her sister married to the love of her life, slay with the dresses she spent more than she ever had on, and have fun with the guests present. The last thing she expected even after joking with her best friend about finding a man to settle with was for fate to come knocking. Instead of coming with one man, it brought two. On one end is Mahmud Muhammad, an introverted neurosurgeon who never pays much attention to anything outside his career and his family until Hauwa comes along. On the other end is Mas'ood Dantata, an extroverted certified chef with a blooming career, a soft spot for family and a surprising dislike for anything chocolate. Forever can only be spent with one person and when faced with two men who are perfect in their own ways, Hauwa learns that fate can be cruel and that picking one over the other is easier said than done. [P.S: Not all love stories are fluffy from start to finish. This is one of them.]

Growls emanated from the darkness, just as she had suspected. The fierce wind lashed at the hood of her raven hoodie, wrenching it from its ties, leaving her vulnerable to the freezing winter assault. Fear surged, each breath creating a visible fog. Her heart pounded in her chest, but she refused to give in. She had come too far to let fear overcome her. Summoning every ounce of strength, she sprinted down the dark, unknown path, urging her feet to carry her to a mysterious and enigmatic destination. She would not remain tethered to the stranger her father had forced her to marry while she had been fighting for her life in a hospital bed. How could he have done such a thing to her? Her hatred for him intensified tenfold... The relentless pursuit abruptly halted, her voice releasing a high-pitched yelp at the unexpected sight. Before her stood her rejuvenated nightmare, her husband. She was not the least bit frightened, but the man had pledged to her father that he would stay married to her for eternity. "Seems like we're destined to be shrouded in this ominous darkness," he grinned, his smile dripping with menace, sending shivers down her spine. The desperate words she willed her mind to say failed to escape. Her retort of "Whatever, Police Officer" deserted her.
