Horacio Quiroga (1878-1937). Lahir di Uruguay dan menetap di Argentina. Dianggap bapa cerpen moden Amerika Latin. Cerpennya sering menggabungkan unsur-unsur seram dan ganas, tanpa huraian yang sentimental. Juga dikenali sebagai 'Edgar Allan Poe versi Amerika Latin.' Adriana Manan ialah penterjemah bebas yang menetap di Kuala Lumpur.
