The neon lights of Houzhou flickered as Lisa tossed the novel aside. "What a pathetic villainess," she muttered, unimpressed by the story's "cringe" plot.
She turned to sleep, but a low growl stopped her. A black cat sat on her desk, its eyes glowing a demonic red. Before she could scream, it lunged, its teeth sinking deep into her hand. Her vision blurred, her heart thundered, and the world went black.
"XU LISA! WAKE UP!"
Lisa snapped her eyes open to a stinging slap of words. The modern city was gone. Instead, she was surrounded by ancient silks and the furious face of an elderly woman.
*Xu Lisa?* That was the antagonist's name.
Looking at her reflection in a polished bronze mirror, Lisa realized the truth. She wasn't just a reader anymore-she was the villain. And she wasn't going to follow the script.
