After Hammer became the Superstar, the surprising good, 12-year-old leader absolutely refused to let evil try to take it over. Ballyhoo and Big Top was ultimately grateful for that, but worried. After Hammer got out of Bowser's confinement, he had been on a really strong happy streak. While Hammer is away, inviting some friends to the Star Carnival, the home of the Legendary Star Festival, where five lucky people get chosen by a star, and bound to the place forever, is attacked violently by people they had never met before... or so it seemed. They came and kidnapped the residents, burned and tore up the carnival, and left Ballyhoo and Big Top for dead after finding them useless. Hammer, Sonic, Tails, Wally, Mario, and Yoshi want to make things right and restore the carnival before the festival. With Ballyhoo's instructions, they search for the Stars by playing through Party Boards. Hammer can then make things right for the carnival's ugly condition, but they need to find the residents and some help...
