At age 16, Aetri Bartlett dreamt that she was ahead of the frontlines, sword in hand and heading into battle. So when Bartlet finds herself in 1179 Jerusalem, after dying a sudden death at the age of 17. She is shocked to find herself reincarnated as someone who just so happens to share the same first name. Though when Bartlet discovers no proper historical evidence that this person truly existed, she is shocked when she recalls the one bit of literature she'd read just before her death: Aetri of Blanche; a young noblewoman- the only woman- who fought beside Jerusalem's King, Baldwin the Leper, died at age 16 during the 12th-century crusade war in 1177. Keyword: Died. So her dream had actually happened? But what is she doing inside the body of an already dead woman? . . .

Year 1174, a boy at age thirteen is suddenly thrust into power upon the death of his father, King Amalric. He inherits a kingdom at war--the Kingdom of Jerusalem. However, he possesses a secret. He is dying of leprosy. Knowing he could be cast out of society forever, and knowing even if he remained king, he would suffer much and die young, King Baldwin IV determines to rule to the best of his ability although he often faces impossible odds with his inexperience and illness, but he refuses to give up. This is a collection of poetry and short stories based on the real life of King Baldwin IV. To read the series I'm writing based on him, go to my website under my pen name, Serafia Cross, at www.serafiacross.com, and you will find the series, 'The Last King of Legends' there. Though I try to keep as close to the truth as possible in the events of Baldwin's life, at times I exercise creative license and explore the 'what ifs'. I hope you enjoy them! Thank you!

After a tragic accident that sent her back 843 years in time to the year 1179, in the Middle Ages, during the reign of Baldwin IV of Jerusalem, Kate Mitchell, a wealthy business tycoon in the pharmaceutical industry, a gifted ex-military, a pharmacologist and botanist, and a brilliant archer from 2022, wakes up as Lady Philippa, a pretty, innocent, frail, and proper young lady of House Antioch, with whom she shares nothing in common. She realised she had died on that day, and her soul travels back in time and takes over the body of Philippa, a helpless lady who would face tragedy, betrayal, and scandal before dying young and heartbroken. She chose to live as Philippa because she had a second chance at life and only one goal in mind: to live and survive at any cost. To succeed, she must thrive and learn to live in the Medieval era, where nothing is common for her, and, above all, she must avoid an arranged marriage, which will doom Phillipa to death after a terrible heartbreak. Lady Philippa, unfortunately, is about to be engaged to an unknown man, and she must devise a plan to prevent this from happening. Kate's background as an ex-military officer, pharmacologist, and botanist, as well as her limited knowledge of history, will be invaluable in surviving the historical mediaeval times when modern technology was out of reach. However, she requires the assistance of the reigning king, Baldwin IV, who is suffering from leprosy at the time. She'll have to take control of the situation. It is up to Kate's bravery and intelligence to find a way to persuade Baldwin IV to help her, and she has few options other than joining his royal court. Will the king accept her, or will she perish as the body's original owner? Will she be able to change her destiny? Alternatively, will she be able to find the love and family she seeks?
