Spoiled equestrian Piper Ross has it all. Her own fancy stable, an assortment of priceless horses and her own little entourage of intimidated stable hands. The girl is not satisfied though, she feels as if something is missing, but cannot figure out what. Then she spots a run down, injured and emaciated palomino mare and change is eminent.

Hazel had always been drawn to the horses no one else had really appreciated. Ever since she first laid her eyes on the troubled young gelding, she was hooked. Shade was a difficult ride, but through perseverance and trust the two had eventually formed an unbreakable bond. Until a traumatic accident on a frosty day came whizzing by to smash it all to pieces. Suddenly, Hazel's life goes spinning out of control. Her mother forbids her from riding and the young girl is devastated but the involvement of a mysterious man, a fidgety pinto mare and a hostile run away girl sends her reality into yet another unexpected tumble. When she is handed the young mare aptly named Odyssey and requested to care for her, Hazel eagerly accepts, unaware of what she has gotten herself into. Someone's life is at stake and it is Hazel's fault. Her new mare is much more than just a simple horse and only one person can explain, but time is running out. *UNEDITED SO FAR*
